A blend of popular music and jazz - 40s, 60s, 90s and contemporary repertoire - arrangements and improvisations for one guitar. Jan is a professionally-trained jazz musician (University of Washington) with 20 years of experience in live performance, music publishing and research. Based on his accomplishments as musician the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services granted him permanent residency in the US, implying extraordinary abilities in the musical arts, guitar edition. He recently moved back home to the Bay Area after engagements in Europe and performances across the US, at the Fretboard Summit in Chicago, playing alongside musicians like Bill Frisell, Adam Levy, and Tommy Emmanuel. Since, his music has been well-received in venues and during events such as an awards receptions by biotech companies at the Hayes Mansion in San Jose; live music for the Stone Brewery; Jazz Nights - Langenau (CH); WTC Seattle; Northwest Meetings + Events Magazine; Foundation Board Dinner, University of Washington; a Wedding Reception, Santa Rosa; Bay Clubs San Francisco; Acumen Winery - Napa; California Jazz Conservatory - Berkeley; [...] and, most recently, a private cooking event in Los Gatos :) Twice a week, you can also catch him playing music at LeQuy restaurant, Palo Alto. The sonic nature of the guitar allows to seamlessly merge songs and elements of Pop, Jazz, R&B, Alternative, Neo Soul; to create soulful and melodic musical ambiences. The palette can go from 'The Beach Boys meet Bach' to 'High-brow jazz vs. Nirvana's songwriting': Please feel welcome to ask for specific songs or themes to be arranged to match your event.
